For watches produced from 1926 until 1987, the Rolex serial numbers are sequential. Use the table below to look up the production year of your watch. From 1987 until 2009, the letter preceding the serial number designates the watch’s year of manufacture. Rolex has been engraving their watches with a unique Rolex serial numbers, and Rolex models number since the 1920’s as tool to track the production year of a Rolex watch. The production age of a pre-owned Rolex watch is a significant factor in determining its current market value. The Elgin Serial Number database was created by scanning and OCR'ing the 1950 serial number list. Then I had to go through and clean up the list by hand, changing 'O's.

They were developed on Windows servers and are extra work to move to Linux/Apache/MySQL. NAWCC-INFO is extra Windows server capacity that I have been donating to the NAWCC for about 5 years now.
